Why I Left SOC (It’s Not For The Reason You Might Think)

Is SOC a scam? Do they just take your money and pay everyone’s bonuses? Are you a sucker to sign up for the autoship and website?

There has been some movement within the Industry recently, and many rumors and stories are currently flying around. Just so you know, I will not address any of these questions in this blog, simply because there are plenty of other sources of information on and offline. If you want the TRUTH about anything, experience is the best speaker. My husband is an ACN rep, so obviously MLM’s are working for us.

So why did I leave?

In an Industry where people go from one “biz opp” to another, in lightening fast speeds, it comes as no surprise when we hear about the next great thing from our friends and business associates.

 

I am not about to bash the company, the people in it, or what it stands for. What works for one does not work for another.

In my case, I have been researching my current company for a while now – doing my homework before making my final decision. Ultimately, you have to decide what is right for YOU and realize that it’s not just about the possibility of financial freedom. While that all looks good on paper, or during a webinar, it all comes down to something more important (at least it did for me).

“How does this fit in with my Life Purpose?”

This is a question that has been coming up for me when considering what I’ve been involved in, business wise. I have had my hands in a few different cookie jars in the last 14 months. Each time, I got closer and closer to answering that question, but never experienced what I have in the past couple of weeks.

There’s no longer that sense of wondering what will happen if I don’t make it. That’s not even an option!

So, where did I go? And what is it about this company that just make me crazy with enthusiasm and goofy giggles?

Why Getting Healthy Can Make You Sick (and What You Can Do About It)

“But I started dieting to get healthy. So why do I feel worse?” You can replace the word ‘dieting’ with anything you like, such as ‘working out’, ‘eating better’, ‘stopped drinking caffeine’, etc.

It doesn’t happen to everyone, but most people I have met who have undergone any type of change for the better, in regards to their health, has gotten sick either right away or within weeks of making changes. Why is that?

Understand that, with the lifestyles we have been leading, there are undoubtedly plenty of toxins just laying in wait to come out and play! When you pile crap onto more crap, nothing moves. Unless you manage to get a disease or two out of it. What happens when you start uncovering some of that mess in your body (the toxins), they get released into your body – mainly your bloodstream. It is then up to your body’s natural toxin removing capabilities, to do its job. Unfortunately, the longer you’ve been accumulating the crap, the longer it will take to remove, and in most instances, overwhelm your body. Remember also that your body’s natural ability to remove these nasty buggers, which are now flooding your system, has become lazy and may not work properly anymore.  So while that lovely “detox” is supposed to make you feel better, it may not. At least not right away.

So what should you do?

Plenty of rest, water and good foods is usually all your body needs to get back to it’s high performance self. You may also discover that, up until now, your thinking has been cloudy as well (though that may be another reason you’re detoxing!). That will clear up in time, with proper rest and nutrition.

Warning about supplements:

If you’re taking them, you may be flushing money right down the toilet! Why? It’s likely that your colon is packed with yucky black rubbery stuff that has been there for years. No nutrition of any kind is going to get past THAT barrier! Personal experience has taught me that a good colonic can work wonders on ‘getting things moving’! Of course, it takes more than one time, so discuss the options with the person who is going to help you correct your health in a gentle way. This is not the same as a Fleet enima, or drinking teas with senna – those can be dangerous if used for too long. Supplements are great, when used correctly, and when they are actually absorbed into your bloodstream. While you’re detoxing, it may be a good idea to cut those out for a while, give your body a rest, and possibly take a good probiotic while your body heals itself.

Of course, you can still get healthy without having warm water put ‘up there’, and then let back out….. Depending on your body and which avenue of restoring your health you choose to use, your body may detox just fine on it’s own.

The main thing is to be gentle with yourself. You only have one body. Do your research, and ask a professional or two. It’s  always a good idea to talk to your doctor if you’re on any medications. Sometimes changing your diet is a key component to getting off the meds for good!

Take some time to RELAX – meditation, watching TV, listening to your favorite uplifting music (not speed metal!), hanging out with family and friends – anything to make your mind and body happy. LAUGH! A lot……It’s amazing what laughter can do for your health and vitality.  :)

Listen to your body – before it stops talking to you….

It’s Not Writers Block, It’s A Complete Reboot!

The last three days can either be considered a waste of time and resources, or it can be the best thing that could have happened to me.

When you sit on your laptop, seemingly full of ideas about what to write, only to continue just sitting there with a blank stare (because you can’t get anything out), it can be quite frustrating. Especially disappointing when you have tons to do by a self imposed timeframe! Not only could I not write, I couldn’t think or function AT ALL. Zero energy. Just a feeling of…no feeling. It’s almost as if my brain just shut off, and my Universal energy plug was pulled from my entire Being.

So is it “writers block”, or something deeper and more serious?

I’m not a doctor, and I certainly haven’t played one on TV (though I DID want to be one when I was a kid!), but I do self diagnose on occassion. While diet is definitely an important aspect of health and well being, mine hasn’t really changed,  so I eliminated it (for now). Sleep deprivation? Possible…it seems my body does not function well on only a few hours of broken sleep, due to a one year old who likes to wake up in the middle of the night for at least an hour, in addition to Mommy consistantly going to bed late because she is up studying, and trying to build 3 businesses!

Physical issues addressed, I then turned to Spirit. It occurred to me that my “juice”, or life force, is way out of whack. Energy has to flow, and flow both ways. Being so completely focused on learning everything I can about all this marketing stuff, as well as computer stuff, while “working” the two businesses my husband and I are growing, and being a full-service Mommy, other important things can get pushed aside or overlooked entirely.

Remember, energy must FLOW, and flow BOTH ways.  Since I was ignoring the warning signs that I did not have my priorities in order, or that my schedule was just NOT working, there was no other place for me to end up….

Having a Life Reboot can be a good thing! It has been a long time coming for me, so I can’t really complain. Here’s the part that worried me most (and showed my just how “off the mark” I have been): My first thought was, “How will I handle all the information in Vegas in 4 days in this condition?” Ugh! Really? THAT was my biggest concern? That thought stayed with me all weekend, actually, so I know where my focus was in mind and body.

So where was Spirit? It seems I had forgotten my WHY. Not just my WHY for wanting to create Financial Freedom, but the True WHY – Why Am I Here?

Sunday afternoon I went to the bookstore – something to get me out of the house and attempt to clear my head and get out of this funk. No use, I was still in my funk, even today. But I bought two books while I was there – A Course In Miracles (textbook, workbook and teachers manual) and Neale Donald Walsch’s book “When Everything Changes, Change Everything”. Opened BOTH of these books today and read each one for a bit. WOW! It’s amazing how the Universe shows you information you need to get to the next level of your evolution…if you’re open. And I’m ALWAYS OPEN!

The information in these books is what I need right now, not only for living in general, but for growing my businesses – I know this for a FACT. It’s important to remember to feed you Spirit, while also pursuing your Earthly successes. You cannot have True Earthly success without Spirit, in much the same way that you cannot think without a brain!

What this experience is teaching me, is that my current “schedule” is NOT WORKING!! So what now? Time Management of course. Skillful time management. What I need to do is take into consideration everything that needs to get done, and just break it off into smaller pieces. Not only the things I need to do, but what can I outsource (give to someone else)? There is no way I will get everything done every day – not with any efficiency anyway. I will post my new schedule, once I get it figured out a bit more!

While there is “stuff” that needs to get done, and can pile up easily, there are other areas of my life that need to be addressed as well – A COMPLETE LIFE OVERHAUL! This experience is NOT just about being busy with work stuff. It’s about not so healthy relationships, health (or lack of), old dreams that need a little fine tuning or throwing out all together (we’ll talk about this later!), clutter in your house, office and/or car, EVERYTHING!

INSANITY – Pure Cardio…and I’m Still Standing!

I’ll tell you what, this INSANITY workout is…..INSANE!!! While it’s definitely NOT for everyone, it is absolutely for me.

The diet is actually going to be the more difficult part for me, I think, because I use caffeine as a crutch during the day. As a Mommy of two under three, it seemed like the easiest and quickest way to keep up with them. That was short term thinking, however, and it will take some getting used to not to have it. Long term goals are sometimes to much to think about because we are so used to fast fixes in our society. Here’s my long term goal – unstoppable health! With that in mind, it should be easier to turn away from those things that have been contributing to my physical demise. Meal planning helps too!

“Pure Cardio” in the INSANITY 10 DVD set, is CRAZY!!! Even my husband broke a serious sweat within the first few minutes! Nothing like a sweaty husband to get me going in the morning.  :)   The DVD shows even the fittest participants going down to the floor, and breaking for water and a little rest during the workout. It’s nice to see that everyone is not perfect, and does need to rest a bit. There are some videos out there that are pieced together, and I don’t believe that benefits very many. I enjoy the “pushing” that you can tell the participants on the video are doing – it motivates me.

Shaun T. tells you to “Dig Deeper”. Ain’t that the truth?!? It’s not just the physical limitations we are trying to break here. I notice I have mental ones before I even begin in the mornings. The mental roadblocks continue throughout the entire workout – up until the last 5 minutes (when I know it’s close to being OVER!!). But with my husband right beside me, from beginning to end, that motivates me to keep going. Don’t get me wrong, I still want to cry sometimes! And I do take little breathers and get water regularly. My body is getting stronger and more flexible – just like my mind. You can’t do one without the other – mind and body are connected. Just like marriage and motherhood, you can separate what YOU do from how it affects THEM.

When I started this INSANITY journey, it was a way to get myself on track in every area of my life: Mommy-wise, realationship-wise, business-wise, homemaker-wise. Having just written that down, I noticed the “ise” at the end of each one of those…kind of like exerc”ise”!!

What changes have you made to move yourself forward? How are those changes affecting every area of your life? It all starts with changing your mind and then taking ACTION. Baby steps become bigger as you get stronger. Just start with one thing, and you’ll be amazed how fast you grow!
